Particles of various crystalline compounds can be considered to be macro-molecules. Chemistry is the science of the composition, structure, properties, and reactions of matter, especially of atomic and molecular systems, as opposed to nuclearisty, which is concerned with individual atoms exclusively, and which, by definition, are way smaller all by themselves than molecules, which can be considered as bunches of atoms, all stuck together by various bonds.
