Elephants.   We take them for granted sometimes.
Elephants are either of two very large herbivorous mammals, Elephas maximus, of south-central Asia,
or Loxodonta africana, of Africa, having thick, almost hairless skin, a long, flexible, prehensile
trunk, upper incisors forming long, curved tusks, and in the African species, large fan-shaped
ears.   Not only found in the wild, elephants are often found in zoos and circuses.
In Asia, some elephants are put to work, hauling logs and such.   Some elephants are trained to
perform tricks.   Elephants are said to have excellent memories.
In recent years, a third species of elephant has been identified.
