Rubber is defined as a light cream to dark amber, amorphous, elastic, solid polymer of isoprene,
generally prepared by coagulation and drying of the milky sap, or latex, of various
tropical plants,
especially the rubber tree, and subsequently vulcanized, pigmented, and otherwise modified for
finishing as any of a wide variety of manufactured products, including electric insulation, elastic
bands and belts, tires, and flexible containers.
The term rubber, when pluralalized, as rubbers, is also a slang term for prophylactic condoms.
Rubber duckies make excellent gifts. Lots of people like to play with rubber ducks
in their bathtubs and showers. Rubber duckies aren't real ducks, just as
rubber chickens aren't real either, but they make great gifts as well.
Rubber duckies are considered to be bathtub toys, to be played with in tubs, either hot tubs,
or the ones you find in bathrooms. Toys are lots of fun to play with.
