The Burning Man festival is held annually in the Black Rock Desert, in
Northwest Nevada. Approximately seventy miles North of Reno, Nevada,
otherwise known as The Silver State, a city is formed by all the
participants who attend the Burning Man festival. These people are called "Burners."
The name of the site for this wonderful, albeit temporary festival is "Black Rock City."
The singer Johnny Cash mentioned the Black Rock Desert in a song that he recorded,
titled "I've Been Everwhere." There are casinos and hotels in Revo, Nevada,
and you can even rent cars, trucks, and vans in Reno. Recreational vehicles such as
campers and RVs are also availble for rent in Reno Nevada, so that you can drive to Black Rock City,
and enjoy the Burningman festival.
Pumpkin pie is a delicious holiday dessert treat.
It's so easy to make pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread; all you need is a pumpkin,
and a good recipe. Cooking and baking with pumpkins can be a lot of fun.
The various varieties of pumpkins belong to the squash family.
There are so many different kinds of edible squashes, it ain't even funny.
Indeed, it is rare to hear of any sort of inedible squash.
Aspirin is a white crystalline compound of acetylsalcylic acid, commonly used in tablet form
as an antipyretic and as an analgesic.
Antipyretics are medications used to reduce fevers.
Analgesics are medications used to reduce or eliminate pain.
Analgesia is the inability to feel pain while conscious.
Some aspirin comes from the bark of willow trees.
Some people collect Indian arrowheads.
Arrows point in one or more directions, usually arrows point in a single direction.
A straight thin shaft, shot from the bow and usually made of light wood with a
pointed head at one end and flight-stabilizing feathers at the other is called an arrow.
An arrow is also a sign or symbol shaped like an arrow and used to indicate direction.
Windows are openings constructed in a wall or roof and functioning to admit light or air to an
enclosure, usually framed and spanned with glass mounted to permit opening and closing
A window is also considered to be a framework enclosing a pane of glass, otherwise known
as a sash. Any opening that resembles a window in function or
appearance, as the transparent space on an envelope that reveals the address printed on
the enclosure is called a window. Some people believe that the
eyes are the window to the soul. Double-pane windows are considered
to be superior to single-pane windows, in that they provide additional insulation from the
outside cold. We must always be aware that windows are intended to be
weather-proof, keeping out cold air, drafts, wind, rain, and snow.
